A BIT OF BACKGROUND

Meet Lexi! She is the reason we started this journey. She was everything you think of when you think of a golden retriever. She was smart, loving, so eager to please and most importantly, the ultimate family dog. This sweet girl was there for everything: the birth and raising of our 3 young children, multiple moves, additions of other pets and diagnosis of breast cancer. She was the rock. So loyal, attentive and forgiving. At the age of 12 she formed a brain tumour which led to intermittent seizures and eventually a cluster of seizures that she could not come out of. We were devastated, almost to the point that it was difficult to even think of another dog. This is where it led to researching golden retriever health testing and our journey to bettering the breed.
